Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan is all set to return to the big screen with Kannan Iyer directorial Ae Watan Mere Watan. Set to stream exclusively on Prime Video from March 21. Inspired by real-life events, the trailer of the film was released on Monday, March 4. The film focuses on India’s quest for Independence. Set during the 1942 Quite India Movement, the film tells the story of a 22-year-old Usha Mehta. Fans have taken to the comment section of the trailer on YouTube to express their excitement.
In the trailer released by Prime Video India, Sara is seen essaying the struggles of the freedom fighter who went on to become the voice that united the nation against the Britishers. Amidst all the protesting as attacks by the British personnel, she is seen defiantly raising the flag from the ground while shouting ‘Do Or Die’. Throughout the trailer, the actress is seen highlighting the struggles, sacrifices, and resourcefulness of the youth to fight for India’s freedom. Talking about the upcoming movie, the 28-year-old actress stated that essaying the lead role in Ae Watan Mere Watan has been empowering. Quoted by Indian Express, she said, “Portraying such a powerful character in Ae Watan Mere Watan has been an honour beyond words.
